The Story:
The newer generation may not carry wallets these days, but as a millennial I’m a little more old fashioned. I like having physical credit and debit cards, cash, the jingle of spare change and I’d be lying if I said I don’t keep my receipts. I can’t help it, I like to track my spending. Over the years, I’ve bought several wallets and always struggled to find one that could comfortably fit everything I carry, while still being compact and stylish…so why not make one myself.

I wasn’t sure where to start to be honest. What better place to start then trying other sewing patterns! There was a lot of trial pieces and things I liked and disliked, but many of them still weren’t holding all of my belongings. It got to a point where I decided to design my own. It needed to hold several cards, cash, spare change, my receipts, it’d be nice it could hold some hair ties, and if at all possible my phone.

After a lot of trial and error I ended up with the Ellie Snap Wallet. It has fun touches of leather to give it a little class. It holds 12 credit cards and has room for cash and receipts. I love that the zip pocket can be quickly accessed without having to undo the snap strap. I’ve used so many different prints with this pattern and each one has come out so unique. Not to mention the amazing reviews I’ve received from people who made their own or bought one of mine. I’m so pleased with the final pattern and can’t wait to see your wallet. Be sure to tag me @shychameleoncrafts or use #elliesnapwallet so I can see your lovely wallets!
